The short answer is anyone who has not got their water storage tank insulated properly.
Ironically, the people who most need The Attic Igloo ©® are those who have had their homes insulated in the past 5 years. Improved attic insulation prevents heat loss through the ceiling thereby depriving the attic space itself of traditional but wasteful heat.
Some installers pack soft insulation around your tank. This is not always a viable method of insulating tanks. The soft insulation can become loose over time and fall off. We have witnessed installations where the soft insulating material has been securely attached and the tank has still frozen.
Leaving your attic trapdoor open is no longer capable of heating the attic space to a degree necessary to prevent the water tank from freezing. If your water tank did not freeze in 2009, 2010 or even 2011 this should not be taken as evidence that your tank will not freeze next time. Local weather conditions vary and only The Attic Igloo will adequately protect your water tank.
